Meghan’s Bio
Growing up just outside of Edmonton in the tiny town of Stony Plain, Meg Morrison wanted to do everything her big brother did. Playing hockey at 6 and golfing at the ripe old age of 4, Meg knew early on that sports were going to be a major part of her life. Throughout her youth she tried every sport imaginable – baseball was a success, highland dancing was not. She had a knack for competitive swimming, but not for soccer.
After graduating with honours from the Radio & Television Arts program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), where she had a brief stint playing on the hockey team, Meg realized that she would rather be in the broadcasting booth than on the ice. Currently co-hosting a sports radio show in Edmonton called “The Jason Gregor Show” on the Team 1260, Meg is hoping to land her dream job as Canada’s next Sportscaster.
” It’s always been a goal of mine to be a woman in sports that people enjoy watching. My hope is to earn the respect of male viewers by being a female who knows what she’s talking about. And if I don’t know, I won’t pretend to.”
Will small-town girl Meghan Morrison have what it takes to make it on the national stage as a sports broadcaster?
