Kacie Hollins has basketball in her blood. A star player at her Calgary high school and hailing from a family of basketball fanatics, Hollins just got back from Ottawa where she covered Carlton basketball for her campus newspaper.

When asked what sets her apart from the competition, Hollins doesn’t beat around the bush and is quick to draw the line between being a fan and being a journalist. “Gillette DRAFTED 2 is not going to be won by a sports fan that wants to talk about sports all day,” she said. “It’s going to be won by a journalist who just happens to be passionate about sports and that’s me. At the risk of sounding blunt, I can guarantee nobody in the competition will look like me, talk like me, or approach sports reporting in quite the same way I do”.
