Before they were finalists: Austin Spencer

Today we are going to look at this season’s most interesting candidate to become Canada’s next sportscaster. I’m speaking of the VERY enthusiastic Austin Spencer. If you didn’t think he was enthusiastic enough during his interview or audition, then you may need to check out his Twitter account. No man has ever used the word “JACKED” quite like Austin.

You know by now that he was a former professional wrestler, but you probably haven’t seen his signature finishing move. Check it out.

If you’re an MMA fan then you know that the move he is using is an inverse triangle choke. I’m guessing that it was inspired by Toby Imada who pulled it off in a fight last year for Bellator Fighting Championships (which can be seen on The Score). Check out Toby’s submission.

That’s probably the most impressive submission I’ve ever seen, so it’s no wonder that Austin implemented it into his professional wrestling career. Austin is hoping to impress a lot of people in September when Gillette Drafted 2 kicks off on The Score. We know he won’t have any problems getting their attention, that’s for sure.

Before they were finalists: Kareem Duhaney

Today we are featuring Kareem Duhaney on the blog and based on his percentage of votes right now, he has to be considered a bit of an underdog going into this season.

I’m sure that doesn’t bother him that much though because Kareem has won a pretty significant competition before. Back in 2008, Kareem was voted as “The Sexiest Man in Canada” as part of a promotion with UMM Magazine. That’s a pretty awesome label for anyone to have attached to them.

So despite his lack of progress in the poll on the website, no one should count out Kareem just yet. He’s been a big winner before and he just might do it again this season on Drafted.
